KARISTA is a European venture capital firm with roots going back to 2001 — over two decades of backing founders who had the courage to build from zero. We were founded on a simple but powerful belief: that the most important factor in a company's success is not the technology or the market size, but the people who are willing to fight for a vision. This conviction has shaped every investment decision we have made and every relationship we have built along the way. We focus on three sectors where we have developed deep expertise: Health, DeepTech (with a particular emphasis on Space and Defense), and Digital. These are not arbitrary choices — they represent areas where European innovation has a genuine competitive advantage and where the impact on society can be profound and lasting. Our current deployment spans two active funds: Karista V, our dedicated HealthTech vehicle, and Karista Tech I, our SpaceTech fund co-sponsored by CNES, France's national space agency. We typically enter at Seed or Series A, often as the first institutional investor, and we continue to support our portfolio companies through growth rounds. Taking a board seat is not about control — it is about being present, contributing meaningfully, and earning the trust of our founders every single day. We are an established team of experienced investors coming from diverse professional backgrounds including industry operations, engineering, medicine, and finance. This diversity allows us to offer genuinely multidisciplinary support. Our operational involvement goes far beyond writing checks: we work alongside founding teams on sales, recruitment, marketing, business development, and strategic positioning.
